What Do You Do With A Problem?

Yesterday's countdown to vacation book was What Do You Do With a Problem? by Yobi Yamada. We talked about the theme of the story - to look at problems as an opportunity for something good and not be afraid of facing them. We also talked about having grit and perseverance when solving a problem.  Then, we completed a paper folding activity to find out just how much grit we have. Students were faced with the problem of recreating the same cuts and folds in the paper that was displayed. Get your jungle tiger on!  Two students were able to complete the challenge successfully. Everyone learned about grit and the power of positive self-talk.
