Nonfiction Text Structures

What exactly is text structure? Simply put, text structure is the way in which the author has organized the information in the text. Readers in room 302 have been studying the structure of text and then summarizing what they read using the same structure in their summary. Please ask your student to explain the following text structures to you:
•Description
•Sequence
•Compare and Contrast
•Problem and Solution
•Cause and Effect
