Nonfiction Features

Readers explored more nonfiction texts searching for nonfiction features.  They recorded the features and their purpose on a T-chart in their reading notebooks.  Students realized that just as we follow the signposts when reading fiction (wise words, repeating objects, aha moments, tough questions), there are also signposts, or nonfiction features that we follow when reading nonfiction.
