Full STEAM Ahead!

This afternoon we combined science, technology, engineering, art, and math to design and build a to-scale model of a float for the Thanksgiving Day Parade. From our reading earlier in the day, we learned that the Thanksgiving Day Parade design team begins planning for the parade a full year before the parade. Students were amazed to learn just how much math, science, engineering, art, and technology are used in the design and creation of the floats and balloons for the parade. They also learned what the requirements to be a balloon handler and ballon pilot in the parade are.
